WHITE BALANCE

Learning more and more about image capture I start realizing things what I never even thought about. For example on a last lesson I learned haw to by choosing different white balance (color temperature) is possible to change a feel of all picture.

I make some examples of my own as well.

Auto
 Incandescent
Fluorescent
Direct sunlight
Flash
Cloudy
Shade

The white balance allows you to adjust the camera so that your images look natural no matter what the light source.
It is amazing!

Homework Nr. 4 EXPOSURE

I was set to do a series of pictures using different aperture and shutter speeds to see how it works.

Like always I in this time of a year I was struggling with weather conditions and light.

I left house in the morning to look for appropriate place, which I found by canal.

Using a tripod to keep my camera still I take a lots of images using different settings, till I get right - normal exposure. I have to say it take a time.

Some examples:

Underexposure

1/100  F 5.6

1/60 F 5.6

1/2 F 22

1/6  F11

Normal Exposure

1/2.5 F 18

Overexposure

1/3 F 8

 5 F 22

 1/2 F 8

 1/1.6  F8

Becoming more familiar with photography an image capture I find easy to set right settings if you are working in one place with one particular object. - I went to the park one day with my children, was beautiful sunny day and because I was on a move to set right aperture and shutter speed was very difficult. Shadows from a trees or bright sunny spells through them make me change settings all the time.
Although I manage to take some nice pictures it was very hard.

Choosing my idea...

On this stage I need already to decide what I will be doing for my final assessment (produce 6 images related to the theme). This part is very hard for me because I have too many ideas and to choose right one is very difficult.
There is some of my ideas of the themes

 "My day":

...to make close up images of main things what fallowing me during the day...which can be a cup of coffee, my phone, books, credit cards etc....
"Books"

I love books, I can imagine my life without them and on my opinion it could make a nice subject to take picture of. Any way and any style, one book, lots of books...etc

"Something Blue"

As my favorite color I thought it will look perfect in images  ... capture something what is blue an make most of it....accessories, flowers, clothes...etc

"My favorite things"

...which is a bit related to my first theme...things what makes me happy...and I had a lots....

"Angels"

A little Guardians  which I collect seems also perfect for my project.
 "Stones"

Other thing, what I am obsess with... I adore them and think is very nice object to picture.

Like you see ideas is many...and time is up...and now I need to decide....

This task is one of my favorites by now. I find it very interesting and I learn a lot of it. It helped me to understand more aspects of photography and haw to create a perfect image.
Now to knowing where everything goes and how is should be it let me see, images what I am taken, from different view. Of course its will takes lots of practice till I will reach a professional standards, but I think beginning is not to bad already.

From all elements of composition the hardest part for me in this task was to find the right images what represents FRAME WITHIN A FRAME and LINES. I would say these are my weakest pictures.

Nearly all of the pictures is taken with Auto setting, because this mission was more to understand a role of composition in photography than use appropriate settings.

My favorite is PATTERNS and TEXTURES, which is easy to find and make image very unusual and beautiful.
